$14.95
FUNDRAISING SUCCESS … PLANNING IS EVERYTHING is a WORKBOOK designed to guide you, the nonprofit professional or volunteer, through the process of writing a data-driven, donor-centered strategic fundraising plan.
Successful fundraising requires having a written fundraising plan. You begin with simple data analytics and knowing the donors attached to those numbers. Using the data, the next step is to determine strategies that will enable the organization to reach its
fundraising goal. Each measurable strategy will have goals, also measurable, specific activities to accomplish the goals, accountability, and a timeline. Success is in the planning.
SECURING FUNDRAISING SUCCESS
Are you challenged each year to raise more money? Are your donor retention numbers spiraling downward? Does the fundraising culture of your nonprofit need to change?
The 24 Rules are a reminder of what you, the fundraiser, must do to build a fundraising framework, KNOW YOUR NUMBERS, KNOW YOUR DONORS® and make the Ask.

GIFT ACCEPTANCE POLICY
This policy will establish guidelines for what types of gifts the organization will accept and under what circumstances. Gifts can range from a simple monetary transaction to grain commodities. A large monetary gift may be very enticing;
but, if it has strings attached, it may not be acceptable to the organization. A written policy will help the organization explain to the prospective donor the guidelines for accepting a gift or, if necessary, be able to gracefully say no. Donors can restrict the usage of a donation; however, organizations can determine if the restriction meets theneeds of the organization.

DONOR GRATIUTUDE POLICY
Donor gratitude includes every method in a fundraiser’s
arsenal to thank a donor. It is a focal point of a nonprofit’s stewardship strategies. Having a policy that guides expressing gratitude for all types of gifts and all dollar amounts makes donor gratitude transparent and equitable. A written policy that donors view as just will solve misunderstandings and hurt feelings.
WRITE A COMPELLING CASE FOR SUPPORT
The case for support is normally based upon an organization’s strategic plan. Too often an organization does not have a strategic plan or the existing one is out of date. No matter what the circumstances, the director of development or the executive director must write the case. This document is critical because it succinctly explains why anyone should support the organization.
Because the case for support explains why the organization is worthy of support, the case becomes the basis for all fundraising efforts conducted by the organization. All grant requests, annual appeals, and events will relate to the goals of the case for support. The case will also be the foundation for all communications and public relations activities.

DONOR MANAGEMENT POLICIES & PROCEDURES
A critical aspect of donor communication and, consequently, donor retention is the management of donor information. It does not matter whether you are sending the quarterly newsletter, an invitation to a gala, or a year-end appeal, the donor expects that you spell their name correctly and that the communication is addressed properly. Many donor communications are never opened or are tossed for these two reasons. Every organization needs a guide for managing donor information.
